Constructed with all fir wood, which we have found holds up best in multiple climates.
Stained with animal safe water based stain.
Double nesting box with lid for easy egg retrieval.
The Kona Coop has a long 8' run including under the house
Kona House is: 46""x32" which includes a Double nesting box and long roosting bars.
Dimensions are overall space.
Includes interior door that closes off the run to the house.
Features an easy to clean metal lined slide out tray to catch droppings.
House roof is covered with asphalt roofing.
Long open run includes 2 doors for easy access.
Fully covered and protected from predators with 3/8" hardware cloth.
- Galvanized with a double zinc coating for maximum rust protection
- 23-Gauge thickness

Purchased the Kona coop in December, shipped out the same day, arrived quickly via UPS. Assembly was straight forward, took a little brain power but nothing we couldn't accomplish in a few hours time. Have 5 happy hens in my coop and I just got my 1st egg. Couldn't be happier. I highly recommend Urban Northern's Kona model coop.
Love the classic A frame throwback style of the Kona Coop. Shipping was quick, assembly was relatively straight forward, easier than I anticipated going together in less than 90 minutes. We have 5 hens in it, they are snug as a bug in a rug in the house. May be back for the bungalow if my wife keeps eyeing chicks.
Easy to put together, I stained it for some added protection. Seems to be sturdy and well made. My chicks are too young to go out yet, but I am sure they will love it! Thank you!
Built this coop in a few hours on Sunday. Comes pre-sealed to help protect the wood, I may paint it late summer/early fall to give some added protection from the elements. Good nesting box area. Space enough for my 6 hens. I feel this is better quality that most of the pre-fab kits out there.
I love this coop! I painted the outside to match my back yard fence. I added handles to the doors and a small window box for flowers. I also added a solar motion light to help keep predators away.The coop was easy to put together and the instructions were easy to understand.
